What’s Your Temperament (LearnWithLOD)

November 30 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

If you’ve ever wondered why some people are easy to communicate and get along with and others a real struggle, then it is important to learn how our personalities differ and how to communicate effectively with all personality types. We all display a mixture of different characteristics in different situations with different people. Personality has been studied for hundreds of years and several models are commonly used to help us ‘predict’ the likelihood of certain behaviors occurring. Research has shown that analysis of a person’s personality can’t predict ‘one-off’ actions but can give an indication as to the likelihood of behaviors we demonstrate over time. Self-awareness is a key leadership competency and in this workshop we will explore one model, Keirsey’s temperaments, to help us increase our self-awareness.
Notes
The four Keirsey temperaments, Artisan, Guardian, Idealist and Rational identifies unique perspectives and clarity on who you are, what you do, who you appreciate, and what difference you make. Knowing more about temperament types allows us to adapt our style to meet the needs of others in more productive and engaging ways.
Objectives:
Discuss how self awareness can improve our leadership skills.
Explore the four Keirsey temperaments, Artisan, Guardian, Idealist and Rational
Gain an understanding and appreciation of the different temperaments and how to adapt our behaviors to better collaborate and communicate with each type.
Share tips and strategies for leveraging the strengths of each type
