Communicator Training

All campus communicators are encouraged to explore in-person and pre-recorded training sessions.

Brand

This standard brand training is offered several times each year, and is important for new employees or other staff and faculty who can benefit. As a reminder, if you plan to work with any new vendors, they must complete the brand training before their contracts can be approved.

To learn more about upcoming offerings and registering, contact the Office of Strategic Brand Management.

Communications

These sessions are offered by University Communications and Marketing (UComm) on a regular basis throughout the year, and are tailored to the needs of NC State faculty and staff. They’re built to provide guidance, whether you’re a researcher trying to communicate your work to the public or a communications specialist interested in creating top-notch content. Topics covered include writing and editorial style, social media, crisis communication and more.

Emma

Emma – the division’s preferred mass emailing service – allows departments and units to create audiences, send emails and analyze campaign data. Pre-recorded introductory training sessions are available on-demand from OIT and cover topics including settings, audiences, templates, analytics and more.

Marq

Marq (formerly Lucidpress) – the division’s preferred brand templating platform – allows you to easily build on-brand communication materials using pre-made, customizable design templates. A pre-recorded introductory training session is available on-demand for departments with a Marq account managed by DASA MarComm. If you are unsure if your department has a DASA account, reach out to our team at dasa-communications@ncsu.edu.

WordPress

These workshops are generally offered once a month, and are open to anyone within the NC State community. All WordPress website users and administrators are strongly encouraged to attend one or more workshops to better understand the NC State theme, functionality and block editor.
