Communicator Training

All campus communicators are encouraged to explore in-person and pre-recorded training sessions.

Accessibility

The university is committed to ensuring access to its physical and digital spaces, programs and services. This hub can guide you to resources and support across campus.

Brand

This standard brand training is offered several times each year and is important for new employees or other staff and faculty who can benefit. It covers guidance for design, visuals, video production, internal trademark use, voice and tone and the editorial guide. As a reminder, if you plan to work with any new vendors, they must complete the brand training before their contracts can be approved.

Communications

These sessions are offered by University Communications and Marketing (UComm) regularly throughout the year and are tailored to the needs of NC State faculty and staff. They’re built to provide guidance, whether you’re a researcher trying to communicate your work to the public or a communications specialist interested in creating top-notch content. Topics covered include writing and editorial style, social media, crisis communication and more.

Canva

The division’s premium Canva account allows you to easily build on-brand communication materials using pre-made, customizable design templates. A pre-recorded introductory training session is available on-demand below. If you are unsure if your department has a premium DASA account, reach out to our team at dasa-communications@ncsu.edu.

New users should attend website workshops provided by University Communications and Marketing and the Office of Technology. These workshops are offered monthly via Zoom.
