Tech Jump Start

Update Your Location and Contact Information

It is important for DASA Tech and others on campus have your most current location and contact information.

Your Email Address and Unity ID

You will receive an email from the University Onboarding Center that contains your new email address and information on how to use your UnityID to access that account.

2FA – Two Factor Authentication

All university employees are required to enable 2FA; you will be able to do this as soon as you have your email account. If you need assistance, send a request to dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu and someone from DASA Tech will reach out to lend a hand.

Google at NC State

Google is the standard system for email and calendaring at NC State. There are many other tools available with your Google account as well, such as Google Drive, Hangouts, Maps and more. The Quick Start Guide is a great place to start. You can also sign up for a variety of Google workshops offered by the Office for Information Technology.

Wireless

The university’s wireless network will show as ncsu on your device. You will need to log in with your UnityID and password.

Nomad

To automatically connect to the campus wireless network and avoid entering your credentials each time, register your personal devices through Nomad. You are allowed up to 10 devices. Please note that any university owned devices you have been issued should already be registered.
