NC State University offers a variety of leave programs. Specific details on each program can be found on the Leave Programs page of the university’s HR website.

Family and Medical Leave provides up to 12 (or 26, as appropriate) workweeks of unpaid, job-protected leave in a 12-month period under specific circumstances. The voluntary shared leave policy allows one state employee to assist another state employee affected by a personal or immediate family member’s medical condition. These conditions require absence from work for a prolonged period of time, resulting in a possible loss of income due to a lack of accumulated leave.

Eligible employees who experience a work-related injury or illness receive appropriate medical care and equitable benefits as provided under the Workers’ Compensation Act and the Workers’ Compensation section of the State Personnel Policy.
