Workshop: Managing User Data (Planning & Best Practices)

We often track students using our services/programs with card swipe, registration information, and email lists. However, these lists can be challenging or frustrating to review or analyze further if they are not managed well. Join this workshop to talk about best practices for managing data including:

• Naming and managing files,
• Uses of unique/duplicate data, and
• How to clean data.

We will discuss NC State's unique student identifiers and how they are used. We will also provide a brief introduction for collecting card swipe data and tips for successful user-data management. If you plan on collecting user data this year, please plan on joining this workshop!
