Who Buys Technology for My Department?  (What IT Equipment Can I Order for Myself?)

Please visit the following DASA Intranet page for a general overview of Technology Purchasing in DASA: DASA Intranet: Technology Purchasing

Generally, DASA Technology Services should purchase any technology which requires configuration or customization for a department, and any equipment that is part of a department’s computer lifecycle refresh.  This includes, but is not limited to, desktops, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, gaming devices, streaming devices (Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, etc), printers, scanners, card readers, and barcode scanners.

The department may purchase any “plug-and-play” devices (devices that can be unboxed and used immediately upon connecting the device to a power source). This includes peripherals such as keyboards, mice, memory cards, power strips, extension cords, video adapters, printer ink and toner, speakers, headphones, and microphones.

You are welcome to reach out to DASA Tech for advice on what to purchase by submitting a ticket to dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu.   If you wish for DASA Tech to make a purchase on your behalf, please include a Project ID and written approval from a department head for the purchase.
