How Do I Get a New Computer?

If your computer is giving trouble, please submit a request for assistance at dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu

DASA Technology Services is responsible for making all laptop and desktop purchases on behalf of all DASA employees. DASA operates on a lifecycle timeline that recommends replacement of a device one year after the warranty expires for the given computer.

For Faculty/Staff: If you are interested in getting a new computer, please discuss the need with your supervisor. If it is determined that you are eligible, your supervisor will need to submit a ServiceNow Incident to initiate the purchase process. Please note the process can take anywhere from a few days to a few months due to approvals, shipping, and device preparation.

For Departmental Purchasers: DASA Technology Services must receive a ServiceNow INC with appropriate written approval prior to submitting a technology purchase request on behalf of your department. You may submit a ticket to initiate a cost/approval discussion with your DASA Tech Strategic Partner. If that conversation has already happened, please submit a ticket to dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu with the requested items for purchase, and include a statement of approval of cost, and a Project ID to which we may charge your purchase.
