Why is my P: drive not showing up or showing “Offline”?

The P: drive is a university-managed storage space accessible from your computer. P: drive (Personal drive) refers to the default storage location on your computer such as your desktop, documents, and pictures. It does not include your download folder which is locally owned by your computer.

On a desktop computer, one of the major reasons it may not show is because of network connectivity. Verify that you are connected to the internet (and also to VPN if you are off-campus).  Be aware that you must be connected to either the “ncsu” or “eduroam” networks to access the drives without VPN.  If you are on campus and connected to “ncsu-guest”, VPN will be required.  If you have an active campus network connection and are still having issues, please email dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu for further assistance.

If your files are showing offline or are gray with a red or gray “X”, please contact dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu with your UnityID and computer name, and we will send you instructions on how to run a manual fix for this specific issue.  Please note you must reach out to DASA tech with the information above, or the instructions will not work to fix your issue, as DASA Tech must complete the initial step before you can run the fix.
