What do I do with old equipment?

It is important to to let DASA Tech know if you have IT equipment that needs to be surplused or re-deployed for another use in your department.

In order to get technology equipment surplused in DASA, please open a ticket by sending an e-mail to dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu.  This is just for IT equipment. If you have other items that need to be surplused (including furniture, office supplies, etc.), please contact your department’s surplus coordinator.

Once a request is received, we will coordinate a time to come by and pick up the equipment, or if it’s a large amount of equipment, such as a computer lab, we will come out and have surplus come pick up the equipment.

Please note that there are various yellow electronic recycling bins located at trash and recycling locations across campus, where you may deposit computer ACCESSORIES, including old keyboards, mice, printer toner and ink cartridges, cables, and cords.  You do not need to notify DASATECH when you put items in the bins.

Please do NOT put computers, monitors, or devices that store any form of data in the yellow bins.
