Justin has 15 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, including 13 in higher education during stops at Duke University and NC State University.
During his seven years at Duke, Justin led the marketing and communications functions for the Duke Eye Center and the Department of Ophthalmology in the Duke School of Medicine. There he developed integrated marketing campaigns, started their social media programs, designed collateral, and worked closely with agencies for advertising buys across North Carolina and Virginia.
When Justin joined NC State in 2014, he was hired as the first director of marketing and communications for the newly-created Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Since then, he has grown the Marketing and Communications department from a single-person shop to a team of six professionals managing the marketing strategy, websites, graphic design, photography, videography, social media, and content marketing for a division of over 50 departments. His creative team creates hundreds of on-brand and on-message collateral and communications every year.
Justin is a 2004 graduate of NC State University with a B.S. in business management and a B.A. in communication. He completed a Certificate in Digital Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2019. Additionally, Justin has been awarded several Council for Advancement and Support of Education awards for his work both at Duke and NC State over the years.
