JUNE 14, 2024—The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has informed us this week that on Monday, September 2nd, 2024, they will delete all Google Shared drives with no active manager or owner. Your active participation in this process is crucial to maintain the integrity of our shared drives.
As a reminder, two kinds of Google Shared Drives will be addressed during this cleanup:
- Unattended Shared Drives – Have no active NC State members
- Unmanaged Shared Drives – Have no active NC State managers
The Google Services Team has marked files and folders in these Drives as view-only to help you identify content that will be deleted if an active manager is not appointed. Moving forward, this deletion process will occur at least annually. Users will have until Friday, September 20, 2024, to request restoration.
Please email dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu if you identify shared drives converted to view-only and need to add a manager for the Google Shared Drive.
