OIT Extended Maintenance Weekend – Nov 5th & 6th, 2022

Extended Maintenance Weekend - Nov 5&6 2022

OCTOBER 20, 2022 – The NC State Office of Information Technology (OIT) has indicated that the next quarterly extended maintenance window is Saturday, November 5h, and Sunday, November 6th. Maintenance is expected to begin at 6 am on Saturday and extend through 6 pm on Sunday.

Extended maintenance windows have the potential to impact all major IT systems on campus, including, but not limited to:

  • On-campus Networking & Telephony
  • Server and System Access for NC State hosted applications
  • VPN access
  • Student Information System access and data feeds
  • HR and Payroll system access and report automation
  • MyPackPortal
  • WolfTime, including Kaba web-based timekeeping
  • Wolfware/Moodle
  • OnBase Document Management System
  • Self-Service Password Management

IT Directors are not provided guidance on which systems will be impacted, but this has typically meant rolling outages rather than a weekend-long outage for all systems. If you notice issues during this window, please assume it is related to this maintenance work; if problems persist into Monday, November 7th, please send a support request to dasa-tech-help@ncsu.edu so we can promptly investigate.

Future quarterly extended maintenance windows in 2023 will occur on:

  • February 4th and 5th, 2023
  • April 1st and 2nd, 2023
  • July 8th and 9th, 2023
  • The fall date is TBD by the Office of Information Technology.

DASA Technology will ensure that a notification is sent at least one week in advance to remind our DASA colleagues of these upcoming extended maintenance weekends.
