Changes Coming for Adobe Acrobat Pro Access in 2022

Changes-Coming-for-Acrobat-Pro-Users-in-2022

January 7, 2022 – NC State University’s new agreement with Adobe no longer includes an option for the separate purchase of Adobe Acrobat Pro. The only way to purchase access will be through a full Adobe Creative Cloud license which is more than double the cost of the current Acrobat Pro license. As a result, DASA Technology will no longer be able to provide access to Acrobat Pro at no cost to departmental users beginning in July 2022 when the current agreement ends.

A survey will be deployed to current Adobe Acrobat Pro users this January that will help evaluate the use of this software across the division. DASA Technology is continuing to work closely with the Office of Information Technology as they look for suitable alternative applications to provide colleges and units on campus with a replacement for those faculty/staff who need the enhanced features of a PDF editor.

No action is required at this time. More information will be made available as we are made aware through the DASA Technology & Communications Council.
